MAC Candy Yum Yum Lipstick Review, Photos, Swatches

MAC Claims: "The Lipstick dreams were made of" is back so you can get your fix of the
vibrant, matte pink of Candy Yum-Yum.

This color is to die for! It's totally buildable with a blue base. It's so deep and loud. I feel like I should come back as this lipstick in another life! It smells amazing, it lasts and it's not drying on the lips like most matte lipsticks. This should definitely be a part of your lipstick collection. If you don't usually buy makeup in this price range, I feel as though Candy Yum Yum should be that exception. There are other dupes for this but they aren't quite like this one.

Cost: $15
Pros: vibrant, buildable, great smell
Cons: none

Wear: Neutral eye, bold liner and no lipgloss

Mini Blog Sale: Bronzers!

Welcome To My Very First Blog Sale and Makeup Sale. I wanted to start small just to see how this goes. I purchased the bronzers from sephora just as like test products because they were my first bronzers. I put them in the collection and didn't open them until they were too late to return. I don't like the colors on my skin at all! These shades were definitely made for someone with lighter skin than mine. I'd say there are for skin tones nc40 and lower. They've only been swiped once.

Kelly Rowland "Kisses down low" Makeup Tutorial

kelly rowland kisses down low makeup Kelly Rowland Kisses Down Low Makeup

Everyone knows I've always loved bright colors, so when I saw the video for Kelly Rowland's "Kisses Down Low" I said I have to do it. The colors really popped on her dark skin and she looked stunning.

MY (pretend-thug) VERSION:

kelly rowland kisses down low makeupkelly rowland kisses down low makeup

1. I used NYX milk jumbo pencil as a base/primer. I spread it all over my lid and lower lash line with my (clean!) finger.

2. Packed a mix of 3 bright yellows onto the inner half of my eyelid and my tear duct
bh cosmetics 120 palette

3. Packed bright greens onto the outer half of my eyelid and my crease
bh cosmetics 120 palette

4. Using the precision eyeliner brush, I patted on a gorgeous turquoise color. I went with this brush because it's so small and precise but it also picks up a decent amount of product.

5. With the smudge brush, I went through and blended each color where they met since I hate harsh lines. To blend I swirled the brush in a circle and did side-to-side motions.

6. I used the same eyeliner brush to add on black eyeshadow for my liner.

7. For my lips, I lined using NYX Pinky lip liner and added Viva Glam Nicki 2 lipstick.

...and's so simple right?

NOTE: I didn't use a blending color or crease color for better blending. All eyeshadows are from the BH Cosmetics 120 Palette (2nd Edition). All brushes are from the BH Cosmetics Wild Purple Brush Set. Disclaimer: I purchases products with my own money. Click here to check out the palette and brush set! icon

MAC Nicki 2 Lipstick Review, Photos, Swatch

M.A.C. says: Nicki Minaj continues her reign as the hip-hop queen of M·A·C VIVA GLAM. The Lipstick-loving diva is back to serve up a delectable duo of Lipstick and Lipglass in an all-new shade of pastel lavender pink. Every cent of the selling price goes toward helping women, men and children living with and affected by HIV/AIDS.

I was really hyped about this lipstick. I didn't really know what to expect because the color is so drastic. This color is...BOLD. I'll admit not everyone can pull it off. I love the color and pigmentation is great. It has a creamy and a sheer finish. It literally just glides on, but with that being can easily glide off. You can start off light or build your way up to lavender madness if you'd like. I'll definitely going to buy the lipglass.

I went for the lipstick before the lipglass just in case it looked dreadful.  If lipstick looks awful you just add a different color lipglass, when lipglass looks horrible you just..put it in the back of the stash. So I had to choose just one first so I would've potentially wasted $15 instead of $30.

Cost: $15
Pros: Very buildable. Really Pigmented. Statement, bold color. Long lasting.
Cons: Color not versatile for skin tones. Swipes off easily. The rumors are true, your teeth will appear yellow if you don't have gorgeous white teeth.

Prabal Gurung @ Target

Carley Rae Jepson graces the cover and spreads of March 2013 Seventeen Magazine. One particular outfit that caught my eye is the Spring 2013 Prabal Gurung outfit because it reminds me of one of my favorites, Peter Pilotto. Gurung just recently teamed up with Target to release his collection to be featured at Target. You can find the other Prabal Gurung collections for a high-fashion price at stores such as Saks or Barney's.

Olay Fresh Effects Cleanser + Brush Review

I included this duo in my post on the Sweetheart VoxBox from Influenster which you can read here. I decided to do a separate rave about the products because they were the best things in the box hehe and I fell in love. I also wanted to give a later opinion because most reviews from a voxbox that I read are done after a few uses and I've been using this one for about 3 weeks.
Disclaimer: I received this product complimentary from Influenster for reviewing purposes. These opinions are my own.

The cleansing brush is described as: "A vibrating three-tip facial cleansing brush. This battery-powered device reaches deep into contours, liberating skin from dirt, oil and makeup in hard-to reach places for a clean that's 400% better than basic cleansing."
The brush is small and triangular so you can really get into those tricky spots like around your nose and close to your eyes. It is battery powered, it comes with an AAA battery. The brush is powerful but not too harsh. Most of the cleanser brushes I've used were soft but once I finished using it, my skin would be irritated and red. Even though the bristles on this brush are soft to touch they are still harder than most but I promise it does no harm!

The cleaner itself is described as: "All the purifying power of a mask with the fresh feel of a daily cleanser. This face gently lathers and reaches deep in to skin to help reduce the appearance of pores." The cleanser that comes with the brush is the shine minimizing cleanser. I don't have any problem with shine but it still does wonders with my skin! The product is a really pretty silver color and it's not too thick. The cleanser lathers perfectly. My skin type is dry with plenty of dry patches but even hours after use..the patches were gone and my skin is still smooth.

My final words: YES, this is my new holy-grail cleanser. When my small bottle runs out, I will be purchasing the full size. The duo can be purchased at,, Ulta and some drugstores. Note, the brush is not sold separately and you can purchase a full size tube of the cleanser. So what are you waiting for go check it out!

2. You must state that this tag was created by 'The Beau Bow' and link
3. You must thank the person who tagged you at the start of your post (link their blog as well) -follow them if you're feeling nice!, and then at the end of your post state who you tag, and then comment on their blog on their latest post to let them know you tagged them, and link your post so they can see what to do.
4. Title this post 'The Procrastinating Beauty Blogger TAG' so everyone knows what it is about.
5. Have fun! :)

Unfortunately I wasn't tagged but here are the questions!

1. Name a beauty regime that you rarely do.
I rarely do a facial scrub. I have tons of them, I'm just too lazy to actually do it on the regular.

2. Is washing your makeup brushes something you do regularly?
Okay let's be honest. When I use my brushes for about 3x, then I'll wash them. However..I purposely have alot of the same type of brushes from different brands for the VERY reason that I don't enjoy cleaning them hehe. I know that's cheating but...

3. How long will you last with chipped nail polish?
0 seconds! It will drive me crazy..either it gets repainted asap or I have to pick it off!

4. How long do you put off buying/replacing a beauty product or nail polish product even if you need it? (i.e purchasing a new topcoat, or a new foundation etc.)
Unless I have a similar alternative, I have to replace it Especially if it's something like my holy-grail foundation.

5. What is your worst beauty habit?
Biting my nails!!! I own so many polishes that I take to the salon to get my nails done with. I would love to take nail polish-fingernail pictures but my real nails just look awful. If you have any good advice for nail biting..PLEASE HELP lol.

6. Name something non-beauty related that you put off doing all the time?
Anything that has to do with my car. If it needs washing..I prolong the process as long as possible which always results in me going through the automatic carwash, which scares me! If it needs to be cleaned out or an oil change I will beg someone else to do it. Idk what it is about my car that pushes me away seeing that I am an Army girl and enjoy doing maintenance..

7. When going out somewhere, do you leave getting ready until the last minute or not?
It depends on the occassion, if it's something big then no. If I'm going on a date or out with friends then yes!

8. Can you commit to spending bans?
Yes, that I can do!

9. How organised is your makeup and nail polish collection?
With the exception of my messy train's pretty organized. My makeup collection is the only thing I can keep organized.

10. What is the longest amount of time you have gone without writing a blog post?
Hmm..idk maybe a week or two due to extreme busy-ness!

GO Ginger Organic & Natural Face Moisturizer

GO Ginger Face Moisturizer is an organic and natural beauty product by The Ginger People who have created the first ginger treatment skin care line. I purchased a sample of this simply because my skin and I are both very picky when it comes to skincare products so I don't like wasting money on a product I might not like. This sample plus 2 others were $5.00 including shipping from Abe's Market.
GO Ginger Face Moisturizer energizes cellular activity and strengthens epidermal structure. A combination of moisture-rich oils and vitamins provides gentle hydration. It Detoxifies your skin with the use of organic ginger and grape seed oil which boost cellular activity and shield the skin from damaging free radicals. These energy-boosting actives encourage the production of protein collagen to improve overall epidermal elasticity. Firms Beech tree extract reduces the appearance of fine lines. It also contains Jojoba which improves the skin’s overall moisture balance without clogging pores.

First Impression: Ginger. Pure ginger, that's all I smelled. It almost smells too strong to be on my face. I honestly feared I'd smell like the gingerbread man all day because I don't like ginger scents.
During Use: Creamy and rich, a little goes a long way.
Ending Results: (3 mornings later) After about 10 or 15 minutes the scent subsides. My face is smoother and no visible dry patches. My skin has the glow-like feature.
Final Verdict: I wouldn't repurchase. this particular product because of the ginger scent actually staying on my face. With that being said, I'd love to try out the cleanser.

Boosts cellular activity to help regenerate mature skin.
Reduces appearance of fine lines and increases epidermal moisture by 30%
Restores hydration by penetrating the epidermis rapidly without clogging pores

Made with essential oils

Dollar!? {Beauty On A Budget Vol.1)

I decided to start a series called Beauty on a Budget. I'll be reviewing and swatching sharing my tips for shopping at different businesses with the best discounted/cheaper makeup. This will be my first post in the series, which is an introduction and my dollar store lipstick collection!

Everyone wants the look for less. We all want to have the best quality products, for a cheaper price. If you've read my About Me, you know that I live in a rural area. Where I live, two dollar stores are pretty much what I have to work with if I need anything, without driving to the city. So most of my shopping is done online.
Whenever I go to the dollar store for odds and ends, I always mozy on to the beauty products scouting for certain products. Like NYC/Wet n Wild lip products, eyeliners, E.L.F. products, L'oreal foundation, CoverGirl blushes and Garnier products. If I see something, I buy it and feel completely guilt-free.
Besides the decent, more reputable brands like Covergirl, L'oreal, and Maybelline a lot of women are afraid to to waste money on the lower ends cosmetics like L.A. Colors, Wet N Wild, NYC and no-brand cosmetics. When you buy reputable brands from a dollar store, it's indeed the same exact product you'd get if you were to buy it at Walmart. Except of course, it's cheaper. I can admit if the brand isn't reputable or one of a couple of other brands, I don't give it a shot. I've tried one palette from LA Colors, it was cheap and horrible. So now, I don't even consider buying anything from the brand; but lately, I've been hearing about LA Colors stepping their game up especially with the glitter liners and nail polishes.

OKAY enough talking on, you just want to see the products right? All of the lipsticks are $0.99 to $2.00 and are sold at Dollar General or Family dollar, but not exclusively. I do own high end lipsticks but like I said, Beauty on a Budget ladies! These lipsticks have good pigmentation, longevity and don't dry my lips out..that's what we want right?

First, we have the pinks.
